Biography of Guest Speaker
Dr. Joan Driscoll is a licensed psychologist treating individuals and families in private practice and treatment programs in the Bay Area for the past 25 years. Most relevant to the St. Hillary’s Turning it Over Group is her work with families, individuals and groups who suffer from problems related to codependency, addiction, depression and grief, and the family dynamics that may set up incredible suffering. Dr. Joan created a forum at treatment programs called Partners in Recovery and over the decades this group has targeted the specific needs of the codependent. Hundreds of people who had an addicted loved one in treatment found information, support and treatment for long-term personal recovery. Even when the partner relapsed or disappeared, participants continued in the Partners group. There must be connection + reflection + humor to heal.
