Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults |
|

The Second Vatican Council
prescribed the revision of the rite of baptism of adults
and decreed that the Catechumenate for adults, divided
into several steps, should be restored. The process
called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults was
approved in 1972 by Pope Paul VI.
God is the initiator of the faith
journey upon which people embark. In the process of
the RCIA adults who consciously and freely seek the
living God enter the way of faith and conversion as the
Holy Spirit opens their hearts.
The initiation of catechumens is a
gradual process that takes place within the community of
the faithful. This journey includes not only the
periods for making inquiry and for maturing, but also
the steps marking the catechumens’ progress. These
steps are marked by liturgical rites which take place in
the community of the faithful.
If you are someone who might like
to inquire into the Catholic faith, or if you know
someone who has expressed an interest Sr. Dolores will
be happy to talk with you.
Please call her at 435-1122
