Holy Days of Obligation: 7:00am, 8:30am, and 7:00pm

The Rosary is prayed every morning in the chapel after Mass. All are invited to join in praying this beautiful Prayer.

Parents of Infants and Toddlers

If you're interested in starting up a "Sunday Friends Co-op" for the 9:00am Sunday mass so your young children (ages 6 months to 3 years) can play under the supervision of other caring parents while you relax and enjoy the Mass, please call Lisa Veto at 415-435-1639, or email her at LisaVeto@gmail.com.

What is 103.1FM?

No, it's not a new rock station. St. Hilary now has its own FM station to provide listening enhancement in the Church. Any radio can be tuned to 103.1FM within a range of 100 yards of the altar and you will be able to hear very clearly everything that is going through the church sound system.

We have a limited number of radios available, but you may also use your own radio if you desire. Just tune the radio to 103.1FM. The radios are available at the entrance to the Church.

Call 415-435-1122 for more information.

GOING TO CONFESSION

If you need to celebrate the Sacrament of Penance, please arrive in church at four o'clock. Sometimes, the priest confessor here at St. Hilary Parish ends up sitting in the box for perhaps 30 minutes with no one coming at all; then, several people arrive late and he is not able to give them the time and attention they deserve, as he must stop hearing confessions before the five o'clock Mass starts. To make your experience of the Sacrament of Reconciliation better, make a good examination of conscience beforehand, arrive early, and then no one will have to rush.

Also, please note that the priest is not an ATM. He too must spiritually PREPARE in order to serve as a good confessor: he needs time for prayer, quiet, and recollection, so that he can focus on you and your needs. This is why it is not a good idea to rush up to a priest before or after Mass and try to get in a "quick confession." As a human being, he needs the same time and space to prepare for the Sacrament that you do, so please be understanding if he says "no" and asks you to come back when he can fully concentrate on this important sacramental encounter.

After all, your priest never knows if you might need to unburden your soul after 20 or 30 years of being away from confession, which is a very sacred and important thing for you, for him — and for God.
