First Holy Communion
Your parents weened you from milk to solid food. They also taught you the faith. Now it’s your turn to take that first bite on your own. Sure, you have to dress for the occasion, but First Communion is really about receiving Jesus for the first time in the most intimate way possible. When that special time comes, our loving catechists and staff will help you know just what to expect and what to do.
First Holy Communion is typically celebrated in the second grade. Religious Education students prepare for this sacrament during their regular Religious Education classes. Saint Hilary School students prepare for this sacrament as part of their school religion curriculum. First Holy Communion is usually scheduled in April or May each year. Special arrangements are made for older children to receive this sacrament.
