Dear Parishioners,

We live in a world where there is judgment and condemnation. We live in a world where so many people seem to be only in it for themselves. We live in a world where freedom to do what one wants ends up being slavery to addiction and vice. Followers of Christ understand that the way, which leads to the Lord, is a way that accepts the precepts of God and rejects the precepts of selfishness and sin. God offers a different perspective.

The Prophet Isaiah reminds us about the workings of God. He said, "Remember not the events of the past, the things of long ago consider not; see, I am doing something new!" "Do you not perceive it?"

God is challenging us to be aware that He is asking for something "new" from us rather then a half-hearted response. God is asking that you and I decide to be radically different in our response to being His followers. What is required is a new attitude of thinking that more corresponds to the way that God thinks. St. Paul gives us an insight into the way that a believer needs to approach a life of faith. He said, "For his sake I have accepted the loss of all things and consider them so much rubbish, that I may gain Christ and be found in him..."

At this time, where are you with regard to living your life in the path that corresponds to following Christ? Is God calling out to you to make some changes in your attitude and behavior?

Sincerely yours in Christ,
Father Tarantino
